A New Year’s Celebration in Plaid Elegance

Hello, dear readers! 

Jumping ahead a bit ... it's not even Christmas yet but today, I want to share with you a sweet outfit that I made for the New Year celebrations for the Dinkie Ladies and the Dinkie Gents.

First, for the Ladies: It’s a plaid dress with a “Happy New Year” theme, designed to be worn for the occasion of New Year’s celebrations.

It's such a sweet, festive and elegant outfit, I’m sure you’ll love it too.

The dress is made from plaid fabric that has a black and white plaid design with buttercup yellow bunting and florals, incorporating “Happy New Year” chalkboard messages, adding a touch of fun and celebration to the classic plaid pattern.

The dress flares out gently, allowing freedom of movement as you might dance into the early hours of the new year, I will, for sure :)

The bow (actually a Headband) is made from the same plaid fabric as the dress and adds a touch of cuteness and whimsy to the look.

The soft and comfortable velveteen ankle-strap shoes have detachable and resizable shoe decorations adding some more cuteness and charm to the outfit.

I also added a cute Bowtie Choker to the set as well as a one-off 2024 Crown Tiara, only available up to, well, New Years day.

My mood in these pictures mirrors the atmosphere - one of jubilation, hope, and anticipation for what lies ahead.

There’s an undeniable sparkle in those eyes; they reflect an environment where lights twinkle like stars brought down from heaven for this special night.

Every detail has been curated to make this moment unforgettable; it’s where elegance meets celebration under a sky lit with fireworks heralding new beginnings.

~ A Cat in Wonderland ~

In a world where blossoms sway,

A little cat in dress does play.

Striped bows adorn her ears so sweet,

In a land where fantasy and reality meet.

Amidst the trees with branches wide,

She stands alone, no need to hide.

With eyes of wonder, pure and bright,

She gazes at the soft sunlight.

She feels the magic in the air,

A sense of joy beyond compare.

She knows this place is hers to explore,

A cat in wonderland, forevermore.

~ Let It Snow ~ A new outfit for the festive season for Dinkie Ladies & Dinkie Gents ~

She had always loved Christmas, ever since she was a little girl. She loved the lights, the music, the presents, and most of all, the snow ... how it made everything look magical and beautiful, like a fairy tale. She had always dreamed of visiting a winter wonderland, a place where she could enjoy the snow and the festive atmosphere.

She had seen pictures of such places, but she had never been, always wanting to go, but she never had the chance.

Until now.

She had received a surprise gift from her friend, a ticket to a winter wonderland resort.

She was overjoyed and grateful for her friend’s generosity, she packed her bags and headed to the airport, wearing her favorite Christmas outfit: a berry red dress and a matching Santa hat.

Quickly settling in to her cozy cabin, she was amazed by the sight of the winter wonderland. It was everything she had imagined ... and more.

The resort was covered in snow, with sparkling lights and decorations everywhere. She could hear the sound of sleigh bells and carols in the air.

Surely, she had stepped into a Christmas card.

She decided to explore the resort and see what it had to offer, gliding around, seeing people having fun in the snow, making snowmen, throwing snowballs, riding sleds and skating on the magnificent ice rink.

Stalls offering hot chocolate, gingerbread, and candy canes... taking in the aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, and pine, there was no resitance to trying some of the delicious treats.

She felt the warmth of the fireplaces and the smiles of the people.

She was having the time of her life.

Taking pictures of everything she saw and did, wanting to capture every moment and share it with her loved ones.

She was looking for a perfect spot to take a selfie, when she saw a gazebo in the distance, surrounded by trees and snow. It looked like a charming and romantic place. She decided to go there and see if she could get a good shot.

She walked towards the gazebo and the ice rink, admiring the scenery along the way, climbing down the steps, she was greeted by a stunning view of the resort and the mountains ... the sun was peeking through the trees, creating a clear, wintery sky.

... click ... a beautiful shot ... a memory ...

The gazebo, the houses, the trees, the snow and the sky formed a perfect backdrop

She felt a breeze on her face and a flutter in her heart.

She had found her winter wonderland.

She had found her happy place.

She had found her Christmas magic.

The ~ Let It Snow ~ outfit is available in three colours, with and without a festive snowflake design ... Berry / Berry Snow, Cinnamon / Cinnamon Snow and Night Sky / Night Sky Snow.

The box for the Ladies includes two dresses (one with a snowflake design, one without), two fluffy Neckscarfs (with the same pattern choices as the dress, so you can mix and match, both have resize options), one pair of 'velvet/suede' Shoes and a Santa Hat with a fluffy trim (which can also be resized).

The Gentlemen option includes one Shirt in the snowflake pattern and a matching, rezisable, Bowtie and a matching Bowler Hat (also resize).

These, for the season, are only available at The Christmas Event and the 5th Wonderland Event. They will all be available at the main shop in the new year.

It's safe to say that making your debut at such a large Christmas shopping event like Holiday Shop & Hop can be an exhilarating, yet challenging experience... a mix of excitement and nervousness (a lot of nervousness, really :) I am so happy to have been accepted and made brand new outfits, that are at no other Christmas event I'm participating in, so it's really all a big 'exclusive' - and the best part ... everything is 20% off.

There are lovely seasonal Dresses and Headdresses for the Dinkie Lady and festive Shirts with Bowties for the Dinkie Gent.

The main gift is by the Christmas Tree... it's not just for Dinkies (something nice for your home, I hope) and I put five extra Dinkie T-shirt 'gifties' out - no group required.

You are stepping into a world where the spirit of Christmas is alive, even in the digital realm. Imagine the air is filled with the scent of mulled wine and gingerbread and listen to the sound of carols and festive melodies as you ride the victorian merry-go-round. The Market is a sight to behold, a dazzling spectacle of lights and colors that instantly warms your heart. Food stalls offer a variety of holiday treats. From hot chocolate to Christmas cookies...the best thing is...no calories :)

Navigating through the market, you see rows of stalls adorned with twinkling fairy lights, each one offering a unique array of goods. There are stalls selling handcrafted ornaments,seasonal decor and fashion for all. 

Each stall has a Christmas Gift for you and you can pick up a gift from the Advent Calendar, too, so be sure to come back each day to open a new door.

The market is bustling with avatars of people from around the world, each one uniquely dressed in the festive spirit and fill the air with the sound of laughter and chatter. Go on, strike up a conversation, or even make a new friend, no better time than now.

In the center of the market is a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and Santa merrily flies his sleigh above the market.

It's not just a shopping experience, but a place to connect, celebrate, and share the joy of the season with others, no matter where they are in the real world. It’s a testament to how technology can bring us together, creating shared experiences and memories, even in a virtual space.

You can find my stall at the edge of the market, as you walk through the sparkly light tunnel, turn to your right just past the advent calendar, it's the stall at the end.

 My exclusive for this event is ' Christmas Eve ' a festive flowy Dress in an elegant charcoal with a black/gold Christmas bauble and white snowflake design with matching shoes and a sweet Headdress featuring a black narcissus and a gently glowing bare wreath for Dinkie Ladies and a Shirt & Bowtie combo in the same pattern design for Dinkie Gents.

The first festive event for me, this year has started ~ The Christmas Event ~

~ There is a hunt and gifts from the designers in each shop ~

For this year I have made the 'Let It Snow' Collection for Dinkie Ladies & Dinkie Gents, in a lushious velvet sure to keep you warm (and festive)...but more on that in a later post :)

There is so much to see and do...and eat, if you have time do check it out and spend an afternoon browsing the fab designers ... there is also a great selection of Christmas Trees, if you haven't got yours for this year yet and/or need inspiration, have a little wander around and you might just find 'the tree for you', along with lots and lots and lots of gorgeous decorations.

New Halloween Outfit(s) for the Dinkie Lady who knows to be spooky ~ Premiering at the Deception Halloween Event

 A new beautiful Halloween-themed outfit for the spookie Dinkie Lady that perfectly captures the eerie spirit of the season.

The centerpiece of the ensemble is a white-ish dress that tells a chilling tale.

One version is kept 'clean' for when you would like to make a super good impression, however in the box is also a rather more spooky version...

In this version the dress is stained with blood, adding a macabre touch that’s sure to send shivers down anyone’s spine.

The antique lace print adds an air of sophistication, while the flowy cut of the dress lends a dramatic flair.

Adding to the ethereal quality of the outfit is a veil that cascades down the back of the hair.

The veil, attached to a rose centrepiece and a rosy crown of thorns, adds an element of mystery and intrigue, hinting at a story untold; the veil also comes in two versions to match the cleanliness or bloodiness of the dress.

With two pairs of Shoes in the box, you'll have a choice of 'clean' or 'with blood', of course.

The outfit comes with resizable and removable dark red rose shoe decorations and a little dark red rose decoration brooch (worn just under the neckline in the centre), also resizable and removable 

This outfit is hopefully a welcome addition to your Halloween wardrobe - it’s eerie, dramatic, and tells a story, making it perfect for any Halloween event.

Whether you’re attending a costume party or going trick-or-treating, this ensemble is sure to turn heads and leave a spooky impression!

Miss 20's and Mr. 20's ~ A timeless look inspired by the 'roaring twenties' ~ For Ladie Dinkies and Gentleman Dinkies

For the Ladies, my interpretation of a classic flapper dress in a floral art deco inspired pattern in rose and a rose colour cloche hat, both of which are iconic 1920s fashion staples.

The Dress is designed in a lightweight, flowing fabric; short (well, for 1920's standards) and flirty, the lower part of the dress is ever so slightly transparent. The rose cloche hat, with a floral accent and bow, adds a touch of sophistication.

Combined with light summer sandals that come with resizable floral decorations (matching to the ones that adorn the hat) make this and elegant yet playful outfit.

Flappers were known for their rebellious attitudes and their stylish fashion choices, if you are looking for a stylish and empowering outfit, I highly recommend taking inspiration from the flapper fashion of the 1920s.

After all, flappers were all about expressing their individuality.

For the gents there is Mr. 20's, a classic and timeless Shirt and Fedora combination, with two versions of  resizable bowties and long ties. It's in the same pattern as the dress, for the shirt, hatband,bowtie and tie I chose Cocoa as the colour, a neutral tie and bowtie is also included, so you can mix and match.

A stylish and versatile addition to your wardrobe, something that you could wear for many years to come.

 A little reminder, we all love gifts, don;t we?

A Gift Board is available at the shop loaded with free Dinkie T-shirts of various designs. I tend to add some seasonal T-shirts each new season along with some designs for every day.

No group required, I know how precious group slots are ~ it's easy enough to pop into the shop (or even the blog) to have a look at events and news; they will all be somehow advertised in the store and / or here, with links, Lm's and all the info you'd need.

Pop in and grab some T-shirts, always good to have as a go-to to throw on if you're in a hurry and still want to look elegant :) As always, easy iron and won't take much space in your overnight bag.

Score Magazine ~ SL ISO ~ Now available at Tosca Piccolo ~ It's free :)

The launch of “Score” magazine is a significant milestone for the Second Life International Symphony Orchestra. It provides a platform for SL ISO to share their passion for music, not neccessarily all classical, symphonic works, poetry, photography and art with a wider audience. The magazine is available from kiosks around SL and I am very pleased to have a terminal now at Tosca Piccolo. 

The first issue is out now.

If you are visiting and have a love of music and art, please feel free to take a free copy from the terminal.

All the important information about SL ISO is also available from the kiosk.

Introducing 'Steam Grunge' ~ a new steampunky grunge Outfit for Dinkie Ladies

Steampunk Grunge meets the timeless appeal of fairy tale-inspired fashion with this simple, yet elegant slightly grungy dress with a Steampunk pattern around the neckline and the back of the dress.

It comes with a crown made of leaves, flowers and glimmer orbs, which is resizable, adding an element of whimsy and fairy tale.

The outfit also comes with matching ankle-strap shoes with floral glimmer decorations which are detachable and rezisable.

As the event is coming to its end, I'd like to thank Riley for organising another great event and for inviting me again; events at The Archive are always fun and imaginative...and I am, patiently, lookingforward to the next one as we walk into autumn and, of course... Halloween.

~ Mare ~ Summer Fashion for Dinkie Ladies

  

Summer is not quite over ...

The spotlight today is on the 'Waterworld' inspired outfit 'Mare'.

It includes two Dresses, one in a flowy style and the other a shift-style dress with shoulder cut-outs and a semi transparent lower part, in a watery colour base pattern in blues and greens with gold accents. Matching Briefs are included. It comes with lightweight Flip-Flops (with a little bow on the top) in the matching pattern and a Seashell / Seaweed Headwreath (resize).

Be ready for a short break away to catch the last of the sunshine at a moments notice, no need to take an iron...just pack and go :)

Welcome to Tosca Piccolo ~ Elegant Dinkie Fashion in Second Life

 A warm welcome to Tosca Piccolo, featuring Dinkie Fashion for an elegant second life as a Dinkie.

The shop has been around for a few years with several locations, on and off, but the 'Headquarters' have always been in Little London ~ recently I had to relocate HQ and luckily our amazing landlord and lady have made a new home possible quite nearby and since July 2023 Tosca Piccolo has a 'new home' in Hampshire. The new shop is better than I could have dreamt of and in a lovely location as well.

Almost all vendors are updated with only the Winter collection to add, then new designs will be coming along ... something nice for Autumn, I think and, of course, Halloween.
